The weather was perfect on August 30th for the closing day of the 2012 Broadway Show League Softball season.
The LEGENDS GAME started with a moment of silence for Walter Kattwinkel who passed away during the year, and missed the LEGENDS GAME for the first time. He was represented by many family members who brought his joy and spirit to all who attended. A MVP trophy was awarded in his honor to Tony Lo Bianco who managed the team and got the game winning hit in the bottom of the seventh inning. It was a great game as Tony Lo’s Allstars beat Older Than Dirt by a final score of 8-7.
Great pitching was the key to the WOMEN’S GAME as Linda Rowland from One Man Two Guvnors’ was the MVP in the Times Square Ladies 9-6 victory over the Broadway Babies.
In the ALLSTAR GAME The Times Square Hitmen took on Broadway Bombers. The best players in league came out to do battle in a 9 inning game. The Bombers emerged victorious beating the Hitmen by a final score of 8-3. The pitcher form Actors’ Equity, Greg Salata was named MVP.
Many thanks to all the Mangers, Umpires, and Players for making it such a special day!
